Alami Organics’
Lontar Nectar
100% organic, vegan, and low-glycemic natural sweetener.
The perfect alternative to agave, maple syrup and honey.
Organic Lontar Nectar is a rising star in the alternative sweetener landscape.
These bottles of Lontar Nectar are packaged and distributed by one of our local clients, Lewi’s Organics, for the domestic market in Indonesia.
Manufacturers and consumers are turning to this sweetener because of its Low GI (tested and confirmed by the Sydney University’s Glycemic Index Research Service), non-GMO, vegan, and gluten-free status.
Alami Organics’ Lontar Nectar is harvested daily by smallholder farmers. Their wives process the harvested sap in our facility near their villages.
The nectar tastes similar to a mild honey, but unlike honey, it’s 100% vegan. Within the coconut sweetener family, Lontar Nectar is regarded as the most sustainable sweetener. It is filled with a high concentration of naturally occurring Vitamins C and B, as well magnesium and phosphorus.
A cost-effective alternative to honey and maple syrup, Lontar Nectar also has 80% less fructose than agave syrup and is completely unrefined. It functions as a 1:1 replacement for agave, honey and other liquid sweeteners.
‘Vegan Honey’
Organic Lontar Nectar is a popular choice amongst vegan communities, they love to call it "Vegan Honey" due to its similar texture, colur, purpose and benefits with regular honey, but produced without being against animal welfare.
There are several ways for vegans to consume Organic Lontar Nectar, the most popular ones are as an ingredient in salad dressings, as a beverage sweetener, and also directly consumed like honey.
Our Organic Lontar Nectar is certified Vegan by V-Label Europe, for the convenience of our vegan customers around the world.
Partnering with farmers and honoring local traditions
Lontar Nectar is the boiled down sap tapped from lontar palms in Rote Island, located in the southeastern Indonesian archipelago.
Alami Organics partners with the local farmers to harvest and process the sap, while ensuring to improve the welfare of the farming communities on the island.
